What I offer
I am a freelance English-Hungarian and French-Hungarian translator and editor, a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. I provide translation, revision, proofreading services mainly for business, legal and financial documents, and quite often a combination of these. I can also help with your marketing and transcreation projects.
What does this mean in practice?
Business and financial translations by a qualified economist with an MSc in International Relations and Economics.
I can assist you with a variety of legal documents, drawing on years of professional experience in the foreign service and holding a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting ( English Law pathway).
In fact, I am at my best where these fields overlap, such as translating documents for European Union institutions.
A published literary translator, I am also involved in transcreation and marketing translation, helping clients to communicate with impact.
A final note:
I am actively looking to work with people and businesses that are offering sustainable solutions or developing ideas on how to achieve a more circular economy. If you are, or know someone else who might be interested, do get in touch, I'd love to get involved and assist with your Hungarian translation needs.
I started professional translation after a career in multilateral diplomacy where my linguistic abilities in both English and French were honed in the context of various international organisations. I have a professional track record in a range of subject matters with an economic or legal angle, such as human rights, humanitarian, migration and labour issues, and international development. I am also passionate about the environment and want to contribute as best as I can to secure a sustainable future for the planet.
My strengths reflect this operational background: an ability to quickly grasp the big picture; to adapt to the individual requirements of my clients and their individual projects; and to find the right tone of voice for your message through different cultural settings.
As a result, I'm uniquely positioned to handle the most challenging of texts in my fields of expertise.
From a misleading adjective to a misplaced comma, I know what to look out for to provide consistently high-quality translations.
